Welcome to Downtown Kraków Hotel

Downtown Kraków Hotel offers travelers a practical and comfortable base for exploring the historic heart of Kraków. Rated 4 stars, this hotel balances budget-friendly accommodations with essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and air conditioning. Ideally situated at Ludwika Zamenhofa 14, it provides convenient access to the city’s vibrant Old Town, the iconic Wawel Royal Castle, and a lively array of traditional Polish restaurants and nightlife.

Guests consistently highlight the hotel’s clean and warm rooms. While the interiors may be modest and rooms on the smaller side, the thoughtful use of space ensures functionality and comfort. The beds frequently earn praise for their comfort, complemented by well-designed furniture and powerful showers. Although the hotel lies adjacent to a railway line, noise is minimal due to the absence of trains overnight, helping maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

The hotel’s location is often described as surprisingly advantageous despite initial impressions. It stands just a short walk from multiple tram stations and a grocery store, broadening options for easy transportation and convenience. While it is close to the train station, guests note a physical barrier necessitating a 15-minute walk, which adds a touch of detachment from direct rail access but keeps the surroundings calm.

Particularly commendable is the friendly and helpful staff, known to assist with city maps and personalized tips, enhancing the visitor experience. Early morning travelers appreciate the thoughtful provision of takeaway sandwiches, reflecting attentive service beyond expectations for a budget property.

Though lacking a pool and fitness center, the hotel’s family-friendly and pet-friendly policies, along with smoke-free premises and available parking, ensure suitability for a wide range of guests. Airport shuttle services simplify arrival and departure logistics.

In essence, Downtown Kraków Hotel embodies an honest, welcoming choice for travelers who prioritize a clean, convenient, and culturally immersive stay without excess luxury. Its proximity to Kraków’s rich historical tapestry paired with attentive hospitality creates a satisfying base for discovering Poland’s enchanting city.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel last week. Initial reaction was not great as located beside railway line. However, room was warm and clean. No trains overnight and out all day so no issue. Breakfast in very clean dining room was more than adequate. Now used to fact that in Poland milk with tea is no usual practice so took a glass of milk to room and kept it in fridge. Reception staff were very helpful when asked how to access and use of tram and various other questions. Hotel is a short walk from huge shopping centre and the from the old city. The hotel has a silence curfew from 10pm until 7am. No frills - no lounge or bar. Would recommend for short city breaks.

Location of this hotel was a bit tricky, you may think it is located very well because it is just beside train station on the map, however, there was a wall separating the hotel from train station, so you need to walk for 15 min to get to the station. There is a grocery store just 2 min away from the hotel, and a few tram stations are nearby as well. The staff was very nice and friendly, checkin was quick and smooth. Room was spacious enough with pretty much everything you need, but the toilet was very small. The breakfast of this hotel is the highlight, I didn’t expect too much before I came, but the food was really nice, although there were not many options, everything I tasted was delicious, don’t miss the breakfast:) There were some drawbacks about the hotel, since it is near train station, it was a bit noisy outside the window when train passed by, also, the room was not soundproof, you could easily hear people talking next to your room, so if you are sensitive to noises, maybe you need to consider somewhere else. Overall I think this hotel is a nice option if you stay in Krakow for only a few nights.

Lovely little hotel near to train station and old town. The interior is hidden behind a drab exterior, don't be put off. Breakfast available onsite.

I stayed at Hotel Downtown during a recent visit to Kraków and overall had a positive experience, particularly considering it is a budget hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, although slightly smaller than expected. As you enter the room there is a wardrobe immediately by the door which makes the space feel a little tighter, but it wasn’t a major issue for a short stay. The bed itself was comfortable, though the pillows could have been a bit fluffier. The hotel is located very close to the railway line that heads south out of Kraków Główny railway station, so you will hear trains passing by from time to time. However, the noise was not particularly loud and didn’t cause any major disturbance. The room had a carpeted floor, radiators, and air conditioning capable of both heating and cooling, which helped keep the room warm during the winter months. Tea and coffee facilities were also provided with a kettle. The only real issue in the room was that the TV did not appear to work, which was a minor inconvenience. The bathroom was clean, although the shower temperature could be a little temperamental and sometimes difficult to set to a comfortable warm temperature – it tended to shift between cold and quite hot. Again, this wasn’t a major problem but something that could be improved. I had limited interaction with staff during my stay, but the interactions I did have were friendly and polite. One of the hotel’s strongest points is its location. It’s less than 10 minutes’ walk from Kraków Główny station and Galeria Krakowska shopping centre, around 15–20 minutes from the Main Market Square, and about 30 minutes on foot to areas like Wawel Castle and the Jewish Quarter. There are also plenty of trams nearby, although Kraków is a very walkable city. The hotel itself is tucked away on a quiet side street, which helps keep the surroundings calm despite its central location. Breakfast is included as a buffet, although I didn’t manage to wake up in time to try it during my stay, so I can’t comment on the quality. Wi-Fi was reliable throughout my stay. Overall, this is a good budget option in a convenient location. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it offers clean rooms, a comfortable bed, and a quiet setting within walking distance of many of Kraków’s main attractions. If a few small improvements were made — such as fixing the TV, improving the shower temperature control, and providing slightly better pillows — it could easily become a very strong 4-star budget option in the city.

It is a lovely hotel , the staff are super friendly and even gave us a map so we can see the city attractions. The only drawback is the rooms are quite small and there is a train railway right by the hotel.

Basic but at the higher end of the scale, super comfy beds, the pillows are blissful and plenty of functional furniture in the rooms. We had an early excursion that left before breakfast and they made us sandwiches to take. I stayed in a single room, very small but plenty of surfaces and storage. Showers are powerful and easy to use. Location is very good. Only problem we have found, is as a group, there's nowhere communal for us to go, so when we pop back, we all just go to our rooms

Overall a nice experience. The checkin was very smooth, the staff were nice and friendly, they let me check in earlier. Location is good, you can easily access all major attractions by foot or by tram. A grocery store is just 2-minute walk away from the hotel. Although the room is not very spacious, you have pretty much everything you need in the hotel room, except tooth bush and tooth paste. Moreover, the price for this hotel is budget-friendly. The breakfast can be considered as the highlight of this hotel, although there were not many options, everything tasted really good. Overall I would like to recommend this hotel to the travelers in Kraków. The train station is just beside the hotel, there were noises when trains passed by
